You can chat with your friends whom live miles away through handphone.
When you have an emergency message to pass on to another person, like when you suddenly remembered you forget your textbook on the way to school and need your mother to fetch it for you,,you can simply make a call or send a SMS and the message will reach your mother instantly.This is much better than letters and mails which may take a long time to reach another person and could be lost on the way.
Besides, during emergency situations, for example, when you get lost during a tour in a mountain, handphone is the only mode of communication you have and the only way you can get help. You can call the police to find you and take you to safety. In these cases, handphones can help to save lives.
Further more,unlike telephones, handphones are potable. It is very convenient to carry a wireless handphone around due to its small size and light weight. Unlike a telephone which can only be used at home,you can use a handphone to make a call or others may call you wherever you are. For example,your parents can just give you a ring to locate you.
In conclusion, I think handphone is an efficient device for passing on of information. It has many usages which I cannot make a complete list of. Thus I strongly agree that it is beneficial to use a handphone.
